- VIRGO
Virgo (Latin) means: The Virgin
What do the scriptures say about a Virgin?
Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”)
Luke 1:27 “to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.”
Luke 1:31 (Speaking to Mary) “You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.”
* The biggest and brightest star in Virgo is named Spica (Latin) and means: “the seed” or “seed of wheat”
What do the scriptures say about the seed or seed of wheat?
Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” – “Seed” is in capital letters and refers to Jesus. This is a prophetic scripture about Jesus who will bruise the head of Satan and overcome him. Jesus is also referred to as the “seed of wheat in John 12:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.” – this is prophetic of Jesus dying but raising from death to life.
*The second brightest star is named Tsemach (Hebrew) and means “the Branch”
*The third brightest star is named Zavijavah which means “Gloriously Beautiful”
What do the scriptures say about the Branch and the Gloriously Beautiful?
Isaiah 4:2 “In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious;
and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped.”
Jeremiah 33:15 “‘In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David a Branch of righteousness; and He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.”
Zechariah 3:8 “‘Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH.”
NOTE OF INTEREST:
There are 20 Hebrew words that can be used for branch, but only one, “ Tsemach “ is used exclusively to refer to THE MESSIAH, as shown in these verses.
*The fourth brightest star is named Almuredin which means “who shall come down” or “who shall have dominion”
What do the scriptures say about who shall come down and have dominion?
Micah 1:3 “For behold, the Lord is coming out of His place; He will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.”
1 Peter 5:11 “To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Even without looking at the meaning of the flank decans, which continue to colour in the message, we can already see the unfolding of a story.
In summary, what can we learn from Virgo?
Immanuel (God with us) is the promised Seed, and the Desired One to be born of a virgin, whose name is Mary. Although He will be despised & rejected by men, He will be the Seed that is bruised, but that crushes the head of the serpent. But the time will come when God will raise up His Righteous Branch, to execute judgement and righteousness in the earth and reign as King.
This King has come down so that you may find peace with God and salvation through Jesus and it is very simple:
- Ask God to forgive you of your sins. Confess to Him that you have broken His law and have sinned against Him.
- Ask Jesus to save you. He has already paid the penalty for your sin. Acknowledge that He died on the cross for your sins but 3 days later, rose from the dead, conquering death so that you may have life. Ask to receive His gift of salvation.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to change you, give you a new heart, a new mind, to dwell with you, teach you and give you the courage, power, strength and faith to turn away from your sin and follow Jesus.
